JOB DESCRIPTION
Pest controllers eradicate infestations of insects, rodents and other organisms that pose a threat to people, property, crops, or livestock. They use a range of pest management techniques in areas such as homes, industrial spaces and public places such as parks, roadsides and agricultural land. They inspect an area to find where pests are and decide on a solution to the problem which may include spraying pesticide, laying traps for animals or insects or using other methods.
DUTIES AND TASKS
An arborist may perform the following duties:
- travel to sites which are thought to have pests
- make diagnosis regarding the problem and the extent of the problem
- put up options to eradicate or remove the pests
- undertake to remove pests using a range of methods.
