Costume / Wardrobe Coordinator

JOB DESCRIPTION

The costume / wardrobe coordinator works closely with the Director, Production Designer and Producers to develop a look for the characters that best serves the story.  The role involves selecting and designing costumes for characters and preserving and maintaining the visual unity of the production.

DUTIES AND TASKS

Costume / wardrobe coordinators may perform the following tasks:

  • manage the financial records for the Costume Department
  • maintain the costume department budget
  • coordinate designers and costume makers
  • make judgements and decisions about costumes that best fit a production
  • liaise with staff in the costume and wardrobe department.

PERSONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • interest in costumes, textiles, looks and style
  • creative flair
  • good with budgets and finance
  • able to manage a team of people
  • communication and liaison skills
